My new Mantra

I am stronger than my pain.

That's my new mantra.  Unfortunately, sometimes I have to say this to myself over and over again as I'm working out.  Over the last 2 years after back surgery, I've come to realize that my back pain is here to stay.  Sometimes I barely notice it, sometimes it limits me.  It won't stop me though.  I have faith that once this extra weight is gone, it will feel better.  So, I keep truckin, and believe that I am stronger than my pain!

It's Wednesday night and I'm sitting here watching TV.  It's been a busy day, and I never did work out today.  I have every day since Friday.  I shouldn't feel guilty, but somehow I do.  I will be getting up early tomorrow to do it in the morning.  I am incredibly proud of myself this week.  That's kind of a strange thing for me to write about myself.  I don't believe I have ever said that before.  Being proud of myself is a new thing.  I have to remember to allow myself to feel that more often.  I have eaten very good, and worked out all week and I deserve to feel good about that!  I hope you all have a great few days, and remember, be proud of yourself!

This is my first time blogging, and I'm so excited!  I've joined the News-Herald Lighten Up in 2014 to be held accountable.  What could be more public than having your name, picture and WEIGHT in the newspaper??  I've had 2nd, 3rd and even 4th thoughts about this, but I'm very glad I signed up.  I've actually been doing pretty good for the last week, although this officially started as of yesterday.  I started on my treadmill, I'm planning on going to Zumba tomorrow as well.  Physically, it's a little tough for me as I've had back and neck surgery in the past which haven't healed exactly the way I would have wished, but no excuses, I'm doing this!

Goals - 10 pounds per month and work up from 20 minutes on the treadmill to 40 minutes by the end of the first month.

I'll let you know how I do!!
